Friar Damião Sanctuary
Location chosen by Frei Damião himself, the cruise received this name because its location in the beginning was marked by a cross. It is a place of prayer, where faithful comes from all over the northeast to ask and thank the thanks achieved.
The environment underwent a renovation in 2019 to better welcome tourists. It is in the sanctuary that finds a 10 meter high statue, made by renowned artist José Caxiado Da Silva, who goes by name of Tita Caxiado, in addition to the church of São Sebastião, and the house of promises. In the Pilgrimage, in which Frei Damião participated in the three early years (1993,1994,1995). The place is literally taken over by a crowd of people, every year the event gains even more space, strengthening faith and devotion of the people.
