Ikeda Hesokko Ohashi is an arch bridge with a total length of 705 m and a total width of 10.4 m (provisional two lanes) that spans the Yoshino River (Lake Ikeda), Dosan Line, and National Highway No. 32 (National Highway No. 192).
It connects Itano, Ikeda-cho, Miyoshi-shi, Tokushima and the white background of Ikeda-cho, Miyoshi-shi. NEXCO West Japan Tokushima Expressway passes.
Overview
As a key to the realization of the X Highway, it was put into service on March 11, 2000. The name was decided by open call for participants. It is a landmark of Ikeda Town, the navel of Shikoku.
The maximum span length of 200m is the longest in Japan as a reverse Langer type concrete arch bridge. For the erection of the arch part, the truss construction method was adopted for the first time in the world by simultaneously overhanging both sides. This is a 1999 Japan Society of Civil Engineers Tanaka Award winning work. Received the Japan Society of Civil Engineers Design Award 2002 Excellence Award.
