Júcar Bridge, Millares-Dos Aguas
The bridge over the Júcar between Dos Aguas and Millares is illuminated by solar energy
The lighting installation work lasted two months and will reduce the environmental impact and improve road safety on the section.
The essential feature of this lighting is that the energy that powers the lighting installations is produced by a solar photovoltaic installation, placed on top of the arches of the bridge. Thus, the installation consists of a 3.26kWp photovoltaic generator, which will power a 930 W lighting installation.
The installed elements include a photovoltaic generator made up of 24 photovoltaic solar panels integrated into the bridge structure, a regulator-maximiser in charge of regulating the battery charge, an accumulation system made up of 48 batteries, an inverter-charger that converts the direct current generated into alternating current at the same frequency and voltage as the mains and a high-efficiency, low-consumption lighting system.
The provincial deputy for Roads, Enrique Crespo, welcomed the fact that the Valencia Provincial Council "has responded to a demand that citizens had been making" and, in this sense, he underlined the "effort made to improve this infrastructure".
Crespo also pointed out that the provincial corporation will continue to maintain its commitment to investing in all the municipalities of the province in order to make the roads "safer, more comfortable, more sustainable and more modern"
