The Kimola Canal is a canal about 5.5 kilometres long in the Kymijoki River. The canal, located in the northern part of Kymenlaakso on the border between the municipality of Iitti and the city of Kouvola (before the merger of the municipalities in 2009, the municipality of Jaala), bypasses the so-called bend in the Kymijoki River and bypasses the Vuolenkoski and Mankala power plants, shortening the water journey by almost 30 kilometres.
The canal was originally built to facilitate the transport of timber from the Päijänne to the mills along the Kymijoki River. Construction of the canal began in 1962 and was inaugurated in 1966. The canal was renovated for boating in 2018, and opened to water traffic on 3 August 2020.
