The monument to the Sacred Heart of Seville is a monumental tower of Spain dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus located in the neighborhood of the Monument, in San Juan de Aznalfarache, province of Seville. It was built to house the remains of Cardinal Segura and his brothers.
Composition
It consists of a brick tower seen with Neomudéjares and Baroque details crowned by a statue of Jesus by José Lafita Díaz executed by the marble gang of Don Antonio Suárez Torres and his son Don Jose Suarez Corcoles, in white marble and 8 meters Tall. The tower with its sculpture measures a total of 41 meters. It is located in a semicircular courtyard of 75 meters in diameter. The patio has a colonnade and gives access to the premises of the Convent of Las Salesas, the College of Teresianas, the Chapel of Forgiveness, the Exercise House and the Garden of Bethany with Hospederia.
The tower is decorated with a crucified, a Coronation of the Virgin and the Transfiguration of Jesus and has an access door on its staircase to access the underground crypt.
