Record: 905 m
Height Record: 37 m
Main Span Record: 160 m
The Navia Viaduct, which crosses the Navia estuary, is located on the Autovía del Cantábrico, Navia Bypass. The construction of this section of the highway was awarded to FCC Construcción in July 2002.
It is a bridge of great beauty, which forms part of the bypass of the same name. It has seven spans of: 46.3 70.0 3x75.0 2x160 75.0 67.5 60.0 41.5 m. The main spans are supported by means of two mixed arches inclined four degrees towards the inside of the curve and located in the median.
The lintel is continuous throughout the entire viaduct, 905 m long with joints in abutments, and is formed by a central concrete box and transverse cantilevers with variable-edged slabs supported by precast concrete struts, placed every 4.3 meters.
The Navia Viaduct has been distinguished by the jury with a Special Mention in the category of Civil Engineering Structures, in the 2010 fib Awards for Outstanding Structures.
