Construction of the O Eixo viaduct
The O Eixo viaduct is located in the wide valley, which forms the Rego de Aríns, between the towns of O Eixo de Arriba and O Eixo de Abajo, from which it receives its name. It is part of the north-northeast corridor of the Lalín-Santiago (A Coruña) high-speed train. It has a total length of 1,224.4 m divided into 25 spans with spans of 42.5 25 x 50 39.10 m. It has a variable depth from 4.0 to 2.75 m and a deck width of 14.0 m. The piers, which vary between 9 and 84 m in height, have an octagonal section, 5.5 m wide and variable in height. Occupying bays 12 and 13 a slightly pointed arch is projected where the fixed point materializes.
