The Pfaffenberg bridge is a railway bridge of the Tauern railway in the Austrian municipality of Reißeck. After its completion in 1971, it was the largest arched bridge made of reinforced concrete in Europe with a span of 200 m, which is used by railway traffic. The double-track structure is located in Carinthia near Obervellach and spans a transverse valley of the Möll Valley at a maximum height of 100 m. It was erected as part of the rerouting of the Tauern railway as a replacement for an older steel bridge.
The bridge has a total length of 377 m. The 10 m wide reinforced concrete superstructure rests for the most part on a 200 m wide arch, which is clamped into the abutment foundations and has an arrow height of 50 m.
The arch was constructed on a cantilevered falsework with a step-by-step construction of the arch cross-section.
The Falkenstein Bridge stands about 1 km further uphill on the same route.
