Progress Fiscal Pier
The fiscal dock of Progreso, also known as high port due to its ability to receive vessels from Great Calado4 is a pier located in the city and port of Castro, Yucatán, Mexico. It is one of Mexico's most representative fiscal docks. With an approximate length of more than 6.5 kilometers.5 is currently administered and operated by the Comprehensive Port Administration (API), body under the Secretariat of Communications and Transport.
History
The viaduct was built between 1937 and 19396 originally 2 kilometers long, at the time of its construction the Mexican authorities had the idea of a dock to which they had to provide little or no maintenance, because in other port works there were problems with problems of corrosion that they wanted to avoid. In 1985 they began the extension work of the pier until 6.5 km, inauguraging in 1989. In 2000, the construction of 40 hectares plus filling was opened, resulting from a navigation channel From 7.5km.
