The Róntegui Bridge (in Basque Arrontegi) is a construction located on the N-637 in Vizcaya across the Nervión estuary between Baracaldo and Erandio.
Although the bridge was built between 1977 and 1979 by the engineer José Antonio Torroja, it was not inaugurated until May 1983 as its accesses had not been completed.
The existence of the Euskalduna Shipyards and some large sailing ships led to the current height of this bridge (having to climb the N-637 road several meters towards the Baracaldo neighborhood of Róntegui), which, with the passage of time, proved to be unnecessary according to some experts.
It consists of a 4-lane road with no shoulder in each direction with a length of 640 meters and a maximum height of 41.63 m at high tide.
In 2008 it was given a facelift as the traffic flow is 125,000 vehicles per day.
