Sajazarra Castle
Built in the 15th century when the town became the seigniory of the Velasco. Due to its good state of conservation it is one of the most beautiful forts in La Rioja. Currently it is private property.
It is built in ashlar stone. Its configuration is similar to the Castle of Cuzcurrita of Río Tirón, with a rectangular exterior enclosure, round cubes in the corners and flanking the access door. In the center of the redoubt rises the keep, also rectangular in shape, with octagonal towers at its corners, crowned with machicolations and battlements.
