Main Span Record: 234 m
The bridge over the Tagus River, in the Alcántara Reservoir, called "Arcos de Alconétar" is constituted by two twin structures 400 m long, whose main span is a metal arch of upper board, 220 m in light.
The construction system developed has been characterized by its speed and uniqueness, based on the construction of large parts outside its final location, its handling and assembly through the use of special auxiliary elements.
Between the phases of construction it is possible to emphasize, by its spectacularity, the assembly of two semi-arches in vertical position and later despondency until its closing in code.
So far it is the arch of greatest light built in the world with this procedure.
