Brannenburg Castle
The today's castle Brannenburg was originally a castle, which was already mentioned for the first time in the 12th century. Over the centuries, the building experienced exciting times, some architectural changes and many noble householders - they appreciated this place in the Inn Valley because of its numerous sundays. The most famous of the castle was Kaspar Winzerer. In 1554 the castle became the property of Hans Caspar von Pienzenau, who had it converted into a renaissance castle. Three hundred years later, the walls were once again transformed: For Major Max Reinhardt, Joseph von Schmaedel reconstructed the castle from 1872 to 1875 in the style of English Neo-Gothic.
