“Oath” is a monumental sculptural composition in the city of Krasnodon, on the square named after “Young Guard”. Part of the Oath Memorial Complex, consisting of a mass grave and a monument.
Plot
The monument depicts the moment of the oath of underground Komsomol members - members of the Young Guard headquarters: Oleg Koshevoi, Ulyana Gromova, Ivan Zemnukhov, Sergey Tyulenin, Lyubov Shevtsova. They swear to fight the enemy - the German troops invading the territory of the USSR. Oleg Koshevoi with a banner in his hands, Ulyana Gromova presses the banner to his heart, Ivan Zemnukhov holds in his hands the book “How Steel Was Tempered,” Sergey Tyulenin stands with a gun.
On the round part of the pedestal is the Komsomol badge, the Star of the Hero of the Soviet Union with a laurel branch of Glory and the inscription: "To the heroes of the Young Guard from the Leninist Communist Youth Union of Ukraine."
During the USSR period, Komsomol tickets were awarded here in a festive atmosphere.
The image of the monument was used in the coat of arms of the city of Krasnodon, in its left field.
