At 12 km. route of Novorossiysk - Gelendzhik, over a winding road called "Novorossiysk Serpentine", on one of its turns, like an epic hero, a huge granite figure of the kneeling sailor of the monument "Sailors of the Revolution" grows. Rising on the bank of the Tsemess bay right at the slope of the Markotkh ridge on the side of the road, this monument is sure to arouse the interest of those passing by on the motorway.
The monument is part of the complex, which is called "Heroes of the Civil War and the Great Patriotic War." All the monuments of this complex are located in the city of Novorossiysk on the Black Sea coast and are dedicated to the turbulent years of military ravages - the events of the Civil War and the Great Patriotic War.
The creators of the complex is a creative group consisting of: architect Belopolsky Ya.B., architect Kananin R.G., architect Havin V.I. and sculptor Tsigal V.Е.
The monument to the Sailors of the Revolution, according to the chronology of events, is the first in this complex.
