The memorial complex in Kherson was opened in 1988. The main Walk of Fame descends to the banks of the Dnieper. The Memorial of Glory commemorates the heroes of World War II.
Kherson, having survived the difficult years of Nazi occupation. As today, the fascists not only occupied the territory, they with all inhumanity destroyed the civilian population and anti-fascist resistance.
Kherson was released on March 13, 1944. In 1966, the remains of the tomb of an unknown soldier were transferred to the Glory Park. A year later, an eternal flame broke out near the grave.
