Port of Burgas
Port of Bourgas is the main port in the city of Bourgas, Bulgaria.
It has been established as the core of the TEN-T trans-European transport network. Located in the Bay of Bourgas, on the most western part of the Black Sea coast in Burgas, the Port has a total of 19 ships with a maximum draft of 12.3 m.
Port of Bourgas is part of the Port region of Burgas, which covers the area from Cape Emine to Rezovska River and includes a total of 8 (state and private) port operators: Bourgas port, Rosenets-Lukoil Neftochim port, BMF port Burgas, KRZ Trans port Burgas, KRZ port Burgas , Liberty port, Nessebar terminal.
Characteristics
In the East terminal of the port mainly general cargoes are processed - metals, wood, paper, food, scrap, machinery and more. Bulk cargoes - coal, sugar, ammonium nitrate and small batches of concentrates - are also often processed for operational reasons. A total of 14 quays are located here, with a total quay length of 965 m. The open storage area of the East terminal is 50 000 m2 and the closed one is 44 500 m2.
The West terminal processes metals, grain, scrap, bulk cargo and more. The terminal operates container and ro-ro terminals, as well as the largest refrigerated warehouse in Bulgaria. Vessels are 6 in total with a total length of 890 m. The open storage area of the term is 191 000 m2, the closed storage area is 21 000 m2, of which 7000 m2 is a refrigerated storage area.
