Port of Cuxhaven
Cuxhaven is situated in a favourable transport location at the maritime crossroads of North Sea and Baltic Sea. As an important transshipment port for RoRo traffic and for the handling of general cargo, steel products, project shipments and passenger motor vehicles, Cuxhaven is a key logistics centre on Germany’s North Sea coast. In addition to a growing volume of RoRo traffic, Cuxhaven has had a long-standing tradition as a fishing port and cruise location. In the future, the port will be able to garner a progress oriented market segment by transshipping offshore wind farms as project cargo and catering to any of their supply needs. Since 2007, an offshore base has taken shape with an ideal, efficient infrastructure. The offshore terminal will be extended to the east, and new berths and the associated logistical sites will be completed by 2012. The offshore base of Cuxhaven will continue to grow – and, with it, so will future-oriented enterprises that make a key contribution.
