The Port of Santander transports about 150,000 passengers per year to Plymouth. Con el Monumento a los Raqueros se intentó recrear a los muchachos que entre los siglos XIX y XX se sumergían en las aguas del Cantábrico para recoger las monedas que transeúntes, pescadores o tripulantes les echaban.
