The Rear-front Memorial is a bronze and granite monument located in the city of Magnitogorsk, Russia, sculpted by Lev Nikolaevich Golovnitsky and drawn by Yakov Borisovich Belopolsky. It is considered the first part of a triptych, also consisting of The Motherland Calls in Volgograd and Warrior Liberator in Treptower Park, Berlin. By the time of construction of the monument, the author of the other two monuments, Evgeni Viktorovich Vuchetich, had already passed away.

The monument is composed of a worker and a warrior. The worker is oriented to the east, towards the Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works. The warrior is facing the west, to the side of the "Great Patriotic War". The three monuments are made to symbolize the sword being forged in Magnitogorsk, raised in The Motherland Calls in Volgograd (then Stalingrad) and finally dropped to the ground after the victory in Berlin as a part of Warrior Liberator. The composition also includes a stone flower made from Karelian granite with an eternal flame.

Opposite to the administration of the city of Magnitogorsk, on the bank of the Ural River, is Victory Park. On a sunny afternoon, June 29, 1979, in the presence of a huge number of workers and guests of Magnitogorsk, the opening of the monument 'Rear Front' was held. This monument completed a colossal sculptural triptych, but it was the first in its story line. Rear-front Memorial 2

It is generally known that in 1949 a monument to the Soviet soldier-liberator was erected in Treptow Park in Berlin. On one hand the soldier holds the girl, and in the other hand - the sword that cut the swastika at the foot. Not Mamayev's mound of Volgograd Motherland swung the sword, urging everyone to fight against fascism. This monument was opened in 1967. And only in 1979 was created a monument 'Rear front', where the worker passes a sword to the soldier. It is symbolic that a former worker of Magnitogorsk, a soldier Ivan Odarchenko, posed for a monument in Berlin, who in 1979 came from Moscow to Magnitogorsk for the opening of the last monument to the trilogy about the Sword of Victory. Magnitogorsk was chosen to install the monument not by accident. It is difficult to overestimate the labor feat of the legendary Magnitogorsk during the Great Patriotic War. Every third projectile was made from Magnitogorsk steel, and every second tank was 'dressed' in Magnitogorsk armor. Heroism in the rear is equated with a military feat: only by joint efforts of the rear and the front was the greatest victory won. Rear-front Memorial 7

The worker is oriented to the east, to MMK, and the warrior to the west, where the enemy was in the war years. The height of the monument is 16.5 meters. The sword is made of metal jubilee 500 million tons of ore, mined on Mount Magnetic. In front of the monument is a granite star in the form of a flower, in the center of which the Eternal Flame is burning. The capsule with the letter-order to inhabitants of 2029 is immured here.
