Saint-Chartier Castle
The castle of Saint-Chartier is located in the French town of Saint-Chartier in the department of Indre and the region Center-Val de Loire.
Fortress composed of a dungeon originally flanked by four corner towers with an inner courtyard. In the park there is a 13th century arcade gallery.
George Sand places his novel Les Maîtres sonneurs.
The castle has hosted for 32 years the festival of Saint-Chartier, called the international meeting of luthiers and master-ringers, until 2008. Following the change of ownership, the festival has moved to the castle of Ars and the restoration of castle was started.
