Vallière Castle
The castle of Vallière was built in 1892 Agenor de Gramont, Duc de Gramont, and the Duchess, born Marguerite de Rothschild in the Grand Park vast field Mortefontaine, which had belonged to Joseph Bonaparte. The area north of the road from Plailly and going to Fontaine-Chaalis or Ermenonville extends over 1,500 hectares. It includes the remains of an old mill park landscaped in 1780 for the financial Louis Le Peletier de Morfontaine and four ponds which is the largest lake of the spine from which the castle is built. The park, quite strongly undulating, is treated with English. It includes the pavilion Vallière, who served as appointments and fishing venue for parties and many relics. The castle offers a neo-Gothic silhouette with Renaissance facades inspired castles of the Val-de-Loire.
