Viaduct of Eau Rouge

Main Span Record: 270 m
Clearance below Record: 45 m
The Eau Rouge viaduct is a motorway viaduct that crosses the E42 between Verviers and Malmedy.
It overlooks Bernister's pouhon.
The valley is much larger than the river flow suggests. The upper part of the river was actually captured by another river in the region, the Trôs Marets. The valley also hosted for a time the course of the Warche.
The viaduct is 650 metres long and 45 metres high. It has a 270-metre span to avoid the valley bottom, which is marshy and acidic.
