Waldenburg Castle (Saxony)

The castle Waldenburg is a castle built in classicist style in Waldenburg in South West Saxony.

Story

The castle goes back to a castle built by Hugo von Waldenburg, probably built in the 12th century during the colonization of the Pleißenlandes. In 1259 the plant [1] and 1378 then the rule Waldenburg was first mentioned by document. In 1378, as a result of the inheritance between John I of Waldenburg and Frederick of Schönburg-Hassenstein, the Schoenburgs became the lords of Burg and city of Waldenburg.
