Descripción:Castillo de Vischering

Las dos partes del castillo se alzan en medio de un paraje encantador, sobre islas protegidas por un doble lienzo de muralla. En 1271 el obispo de Münster mandó construir el Hauptburg (cuerpo principal) de planta semicircular, al cual se añadió en 1550 una torre y en 1620 un antecuerpo. En el interior se pueden ver muebles, así como pinturas murales y frescos ornamentales en los techos. Las dependencias situadas en la otra isla acogen una exposición sobre la vida y el trabajo de los campesinos.

Vischering Castle (German: Burg Vischering) in Lüdinghausen, North Rhine-Westfalia is the most typical moated castle in the Münster region of Germany. This region has one of the highest German concentrations of castles, palaces and fortifications, Lüdinghausen having three by itself. The castle consists of outer defensive courtyard, defensive gateways, moat, drawbridge, main building and chapel. The sandstone walls, the red tile roofs as well as their reflection in the moat provide many harmonious views from the wooded surroundings.
